I don't have a lot to say this month, because we have been buried in new development for the last 4 weeks or so. But, here is a quick update on things.
As you probably know, we recently released UTX patches for both Canada and Alaska. And, we have a patch for UTX USA that was just about ready for release, before we were sidetracked with a need to work on new product prototype. We will get the USA patch out soon though.
In the coming months, I hope to be able to share a lot more information about our new product lines. These new products will not replace UTX. Instead, they will enhance it further.
Whereas UTX is more of a terrain enhancement product, the new product lines will concentrate on accuracy regarding buildings, houses and other urban area objects.
BTW, I am sorry for missing comments posted previously on this blog. I really don't check the blog unless I am posting new information. For quick help with support, you can always visit the Ultimate Terrain forums at:

Thanks for your continued support of our products !

April blog update
I just saw that it has been a while since the last blog entry. So, here is the latest on what is going on with Scenery Solutions.
Since the last blog entry, we have been working on patches for UTX Canada and Ultimate Alaska X (the first patch). Both of these patches have completed the initial round of testing and will be released soon (early may). Prior to public release, we are going to give these patches one more round of testing. Both patches will be released in tandem, because a few corrections were made to the overlapping Alaska/Canada border areas in each product.
After the Canada and Alaska patches are released, we will start working on a patch for UTX USA. Hopefully, this patch can be completed relatively quickly.
The USA patch will conclude UTX patches released for 2010. The remaining portion of the year will be spend working on the exciting new product lines that have been discussed in the past. That will be an exciting time for us.
That's all for now....

What's next ?
Now that Ultimate Alaska X is released, I wanted to mention upcoming projects.
1) Official UTX Europe patch
We had already started on a UTX Europe patch. Most of the work will be a near complete reworking of Ireland. In addition, we will address other reported enhancement requests.
2) Unofficial UTX Europe Traffic patch
Based on user requests, we will work on a traffic patch for Europe that removes the traffic from major roads. For some people, this was causing too big of a performance issue. This is not an official patch and will overwrite the current traffic files.
3) Official UTX Canada Patch
Canada will be next up for a patch. This will included user requests + a reworking of the glacier area near the borders with Alaska.
4) Official UTX USA patch.
The UTX Usa patch will address user enhancement requests.
5+)
After the slew of patches, we will start on our new product line (formally Project X), which will give the USA, Canada and Europe the same accurate urban modeling as seen in our new Alaska product. These will be separate products that will work with the UTX (Ultimate Terrain X) products to enhance them. They will not be upgrades or replacements. UTX will not be required for these new products. But, it will be recommended for the most accuracy.
Thanks for all the positive comments on Alaska ! It's a pretty special product and a beautiful area to fly.

Tick..Tock...Tick...Tock
After almost a year in development, Ultimate Alaska X is finally nearing release. It could very well could be released tomorrow (wednesday, Feb 3rd) if everything goes as planned.
The intial announcement will either come from me here in the blog, if I can beat the guys at Flight 1. Or, it will come from Flight 1 in the Ultimate Terrain forums. The latter is probably more likely, since the actual release is more in their control ;)
The download size is a little under 800mb.
I think you gentlemen (and ladies) will really like this product. Alaska is a great place to fly. And, this is our most complete, feature packed product to date.

Full beta testing on Alaska......finally
We hit a milestone today, as a new Ultimate Alaska product was released to the beta team as a complete installer. We are now ready to enter a relatively short beta-period, before releasing the product to the public.
We have been testing this product for about 4 months now, as new features have been added. So, the beta testing is really a question of going back and making sure nothing has been broken over the last few months. We also need to update the user documentation prior to release.
While nothing is set in stone, I would like to see the product released at the end of this month.
I know some of you have been waiting over a year for this product. I think you will find it worth the wait. Thank you for your patience. Alaska is a beautiful place to fly. We certainly did not want to rush things.
